If we put cheap fuel into our car, we can expect the engine to make a pinging noise or to lack sufficient power when accelerating or going up a steep hill. So why would we expect it to be any different with our bodies that are far more delicate? Our bodies need the right foods and beverages that they were created to run on. Likewise, if bad fuel can affect our car's performance, then why shouldn't we believe that bad food will affect our performance as well?
Therefore, for optimum health, we should either be drinking pure rain water, distilled water, reverse osmosis filtered water,or deep bore water. Drinking city supplied water, bottled water or certain types of filtered water can still be unhealthy and be adding heavy metals to our bodies. We would never think of pouring used or dirty oil in our car engine but drinking impure water can be just as offensive to our bodies. Tap water is like drinking anti-biotics everyday of your life with so much sanitizing 'chlorine' in it - and even our GP will tell us that taking too much anti-biotics is not good for our health. If our drinking water does not have the ability to sustain life then neither should we be drinking it, so if you fill a glass and leave it in the sunlight for a few days and algae does not form inside of the glass, don't drink it!
We need to keep our bodies well hydrated by keeping daily water intake up and drinking several litres per day - depending on your body weight. So, by first drinking a few glasses of water in the morning (about half an hour before breakfast) we can replenish the cells of our body, thus allowing our brain to function properly. Water, salt and potassium together regulate the water content of the body (or our body's water tank supply). Potassium from fruit and vegetables helps our body hold onto water and to keep our cells hydrated as well. Pure salt (not modern table salt) is a 'medication' that has been used by healers for centuries and in some cultures it is worth its weight in gold. To fully understand how to get the balance right of water, salt and potassium please read Dr Batmanghelidj's book titled 'The essential guide to Water & Salt'. Every health fanatic should read this book first before embarking on radical diets to cure health problems - because the majority of even serious ailments today are often merely due to simple dehydration! And, not a lack of certain proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins or minerals etc. Remember.. pure, clean water is clean energy - wheres food is dirty energy! Water is much easier on the body than food.
It is also important that we maintain our digestive juices and not water them down too much, so that our food cannot digest properly. As the late Dr H. Shelton stated in his book Superior Nutrition... "... we should not drink with meals, nor soon thereafter. Water dilutes the digestive juices, passes from the stomach in a very few minutes and takes the juices along with it, so that the food is left without adequate juice to carry on the work of digestion...All the water desired should be taken ten to twenty minutes before meals."
