Operating Instructions for the 10 litre, Hi-gravity feed, colon irrigation kit
1. Locate any size A-frame ladder to hold the 10 litre water tank up as high to your ceiling as possible (1.8 metres high is most appropriate and can be purchased at Bunnings for approx $44 for a galvanized steel one)
2. Place the ladder as close as possible to your toilet. You have been supplied with an extra long surgical rubber water feed hose in case you have to place the ladder outside your toilet door entrance.
3. Install the 10 litre container holding bracket on top of your ladder securely with the supplied velcro bands. This will stop it sliding off the top of the ladder.
4. Fill the 10 litre water tank with warm water (as clean water as possible) that is comfortable to hold your finger in for several seconds. If it is too cold it will not be as effective in the cleansing process—if it is too hot then it can be quite discomforting and not good for you either.
5. Install the riser plate (large white plastic item) under your toilet seat, at the rear of toilet seat. See pictures of this item on the ebay site for more detail if needed.
6. Insert a riser tube into the plastic tube end. Attach yellow surgical rubber tube to end of tap on 10 litre tank – make sure the other end of this yellow tube is attached to the riser plate tube adapter (clear plastic cone shaped item).
7. Make sure the pinch/clamp on the surgical rubber tube is within easy reach during the colon irrigation process. Then clamp it down to stop water flow.
8. Turn tap on the 10 litre tank to the fully “on” position.
9. Now take a seat and begin the process by unclamping the pinch/clamp fully. The longer you can hold the water in, the more effective the cleansing will be.
10. The large 10 mm diameter surgical rubber tube, combined with the high 10 litre tank usually ensure rapid flow and high colon cleansing ability—able to reach the transverse colon.
Who else uses hydro-therapy machines? Do you think celebrities stay trim, healthy and beautiful just because of diet and exercise alone? Well, think again! They definitely have some tricks up their sleeves. Many celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Cindy Crawford have become devotees of regular colon hydrotherapy, a procedure that rids the body of toxins and improves health and energy almost immediately. Many actors in their 40’s and 50’s may attribute their trim body shape and youthful appearance to colonic irrigation; and it is perhaps one of the best kept secrets in Hollywood today. Even if they get the urge for some fattening fast-foods once in a while, like we do, who is to say they do not go home and flush it out shortly thereafter with a similar system as this? But, user beware, colon hydrotherapy can also be addictive and become a source of anorexia if over-used.
Could you ever imagine that your colon may some day be the focus of a scandal? Well, that is just what happened to Diana, the late Princess of Wales, who never imagined she would be targeted by British newspapers—when they reported that she had unwisely spent more than $4,300 a year cleaning her colon. She apparently was a firm believer in undertaking regular colon hydrotherapy. So, in 1993, The Globe reported that she had been having a minimum of two to three colonics every week, which she claimed released her from anorexia, headaches, tiredness, allergies, depression and Candida. The tabloids even jokingly claimed that this amazing well kept secret of her healthy, slim, figure was giving her body a "Royal Flush!" Princess Di, was thereafter, recognized as one of colon hydrotherapy's greatest advocates. She credited colonics and the regular use of cleansing enemas for her radiant complexion and silken hair, as well as relief from many physical ailments too.
But some Hollywood icons that became stars before the “ultra-trim” look arrived on the scene were not so fortunate to utilise colonic irrigations to aid their health. John Wayne, for instance, had a seriously impacted colon, perhaps for several months before his death. When doctors did an autopsy, they found 18 kilos of impacted, dried faecal matter inside his colon! All of that waste was lodged in the folds and pockets of his intestines and colon. When Elvis passed away, he reportedly had 27 kilos of waste in his colon!
And did you know that the average person who is not even overweight may have between 4-7kg of dried faecal matter caked on the walls of their colon? Colon hydrotherapy (or irrigation) is a natural method for removing this deposited matter and improving the body's digestive and eliminative functions. Colon Hydrotherapy can be most beneficial in helping to restore good health often indicated by:
The prevention of illness
Improved physical appearance
A boost in emotional well-being
A sharpening of mental capabilities
An enhancement in digestion
The elimination of unhealthy food addictions and allergies
The attainment of ideal weight
A minimising of the effects of aging
Single therapy treatments in a certified “Hydro-therapy Clinic” can vary, but on average range from $100 to $200 for a typical office visit of one hour, of which 45 minutes is the actual colon hydrotherapy treatment. Generally, a series of six colonics are recommended for those who desire heightened energy, increased well being, and renewed vitality. One session alone however often cannot rid the body of a lifetime of toxins. Depending on one's diet and state of health, it may take several sessions to release most of the old waste matter. But if you purchase this in-home colon irrigation machine just think of the money you will save. And it is a more private event that can be done whenever necessary.
Interestingly, legend has it that after performing over 20,000 colon surgeries, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, the famous surgeon and father of Kellogg's Corn Flakes, summarised that the bowel (colon) could be the origin of most health problems.
Other health reasons to use colon hydro-therapy Many people have pre-conceived ideas about Colonic Hydrotherapy and Colonic Irrigation and imagine the worst, whereas it is a treatment that will leave you feeling clean, revitalized and well.
In today’s society people lead a very busy lifestyle and very often the foods we eat everyday contain inadequate nutrients and toxic substances, especially refined pre-processed foods with preservatives, artificial colors and artificial flavors. We often add additional "free radicals" (i.e. unstable molecules that attack our cells) to our food by unhealthy cooking methods, such as deep frying in oil or grilling on an open fire. In addition, we intentionally ingest other toxic substances, such as alcohol, nicotine and stimulants, such as caffeine and other drugs with various adverse effects. After these foods are digested, our liver must work overtime to detoxify all the foreign toxic substances so that they can be excreted through our kidneys and skin. Some of the toxic substances escape the detoxification process of the liver, especially for people who have compromised liver functions.
We take a shower to clean the outside of our bodies or wash our face everyday, but why do most people fail to realise the necessity to clean our insides once in a while?. Our intestinal tract is like a plumbing system in a house, with the small intestines comparable to sewage pipes and the colon comparable to a septic tank. When fat and debris are poured down the drain every day, the pipes will become clogged. Septic tanks need to be pumped out occasionally. Otherwise, too much waste will accumulate and back up into the house.
The same phenomenon will happen to your intestines. When you pour greasy food, excessive dairy products, meats and other foods with toxic substances down your intestinal tract every day, food residues build up. Food residues, combined with mucus secreted by mucus membranes in the colon, form layers of gluey faeces, which will build up in pockets and may pile up along the entire length of the colon and part of small intestines, year after year. Constipation becomes a norm. People have been known to carry 20-25kg of old, dried up faecal matter in their intestines. Old faeces do not pass from the body with ordinary bowel movements. They need a special treatment to dissolve the glue which binds them to the intestinal wall.
Some symptoms of a sluggish colon: Flatulence, constipation, heamorrhoids, headache, acne, skin eruptions, bad breath, foul body odour, irritability and depression. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Arthritis, Asthma, Atonic, (sluggish) colon, Bloating, Candida, Colitis in remission, Diarrhoea Diverticulosis (i.e Diverticulitis in remission) flatulence Gut, leaky Haemorrhoids, Headaches, Lethargy, Indigestion, parasitic Infections.
Unhealthy colon conditions The intestines are a long, continuous tube running from the stomach to the anus. Most absorption of nutrients and water happen in the intestines. The intestines include the small intestine, large intestine, and rectum.
The small intestine (small bowel) is about 20 feet long and about an inch in diameter. Its job is to absorb most of the nutrients from what we eat and drink. Velvety tissue lines the small intestine, which is divided into the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum.
The large intestine (colon or large bowel) is about 5 feet long and about 3 inches in diameter. The colon absorbs water from wastes, creating stool. As stool enters the rectum, nerves there create the urge to defecate.
Specific health problems that colon irrigation can help alleviate
Stomach flu (enteritis): Inflammation of the small intestine. Infections (from viruses, bacteria, or parasites) are the common cause.
Small intestine cancer: Rarely, cancer may affect the small intestine. There are multiple types of small intestine cancer, causing about 1,100 deaths each year.
Celiac disease: An "allergy" to gluten (a protein in most breads) causes the small intestine not to absorb nutrients properly. Abdominal pain and weight loss are usual symptoms.
Carcinoid tumor: A benign or malignant growth in the small intestine. Diarrhea and skin flushing are the most common symptoms.
Intestinal obstruction: A section of either the small or large bowel can become blocked or twisted or just stop working. Belly distension, pain, constipation, and vomiting are symptoms.
Colitis: Inflammation of the colon. Inflammatory bowel disease or infections are the most common causes.
Diverticulosis: Small weak areas in the colon's muscular wall allow the colon's lining to protrude through, forming tiny pouches called diverticuli. Diverticuli usually cause no problems, but can bleed or become inflamed.
Diverticulitis: When diverticuli become inflamed or infected, diverticulitis results. Abdominal pain and constipation are common symptoms.
Colon bleeding (hemorrhage): Multiple potential colon problems can cause bleeding. Rapid bleeding is visible in the stool, but very slow bleeding might not be.
Inflammatory bowel disease: A name for either Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Both conditions can cause colon inflammation (colitis).
Crohn's disease: An inflammatory condition that usually affects the colon and intestines. Abdominal pain and diarrhea (which may be bloody) are symptoms.
Ulcerative colitis: An inflammatory condition that usually affects the colon and rectum. Like Crohn's disease, bloody diarrhea is a common symptom of ulcerative colitis.
Diarrhea: Stools that are frequent, loose, or watery are commonly called diarrhea. Most diarrhea is due to self-limited, mild infections of the colon or small intestine.
Salmonellosis: Salmonella bacteria can contaminate food and infect the intestine. Salmonella causes diarrhea and stomach cramps, which usually resolve without treatment.
Shigellosis: Shigella bacteria can contaminate food and infect the intestine. Symptoms include fever, stomach cramps, and diarrhea, which may be bloody.
Traveler's diarrhea: Many different bacteria commonly contaminate water or food in developing countries. Loose stools, sometimes with nausea and fever, are symptoms.
Colon polyps: Polyps are growths inside the colon. Colon cancer can often develop in these tumors after many years.
Colon cancer: Cancer of the colon affects more than 100,000 Americans each year. Most colon cancer is preventable through regular screening.
Rectal cancer: Colon and rectal cancer are similar in prognosis and treatment. Doctors often consider them together as colorectal cancer.
Constipation: When bowel movements are infrequent or difficult.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): Irritable bowel syndrome, also known as IBS, is an intestinal disorder that causes irritable abdominal pain or discomfort, cramping or bloating, and diarrhea or constipation.
Rectal prolapse: Part or all of the wall of the rectum can move out of position, sometimes coming out of the anus, when straining during a bowel movement.
Intussusception: Occurring mostly in children, the small intestine can collapse into itself like a telescope. It can become life-threatening if not treated.
Conditions that may improve through colon hydrotherapy * The restoration of gastrointestinal motility function?

* Strengthening of the liver and kidney functions
* Less constipation, abdominal distension or diarrhea.
* Less headaches, insomnia, bad breath, body odour.
* Less uric acid to prevent enlarged ulcers
* Improved blood triglycerides and peripheral blood circulation.
History of the development of colon hydrotherapy Conducted as early as 1,500 BC ago, bags of human skin with water enema for the treatment of poisoning, dysentery, fever and other diseases. In the ancient Egyptian medical document "Ebers Papyrus" is one of the first documented of an enema device. Hippocrates, Galen and the ancient Greeks, respected enema therapy as a sound medical device of their day.
With the development of science and technology, early methods of enema cleansing slowly developed into colon hydrotherapy equipment. The first to use this method in Europe and the United States was mainly by a few of the rich and powerful as a means of healthcare. It then swept around the world as international beauty stars sought personal detoxification, and the maintaining of a youthful appearance. This began to attract more attention to colon hydrotherapy.
