My story - Dan K
I am an avid natural health enthusiast who enjoys researching about better health. I have lived half my life in America eating the SAD way (Standard American Diet) and the other half in Australia—but now eating a little healthier. When living in America I loved my hamburgers, fries, fried foods, beer, soda, sweets and whatever else that Western foods tempt us with. Needless to say I got real sick for a whole month once and could barely hold any food down—I lost much weight and then rebounded back to health ever so slowly.
When I moved to Australia in 2002 (for the second time) I started studying anything and everything I could get my hands on about natural health in my spare time. I think I was just in study mode at that period in my life, as I also undertook a degree in Business Administration and a Grad. Dip. in Counselling during this period as well. But the concept of eating all raw foods really intrigued me, and that was the main focus of my research on health for my personal interests. While living in America, I had implemented the use of more fibre from grains in my diet, but now utilising raw foods seemed to be a far more effective source of fibre that had “enzyme” potential as well. I enjoyed studying about enzymes and other living, regenerating cells and the invaluable work they do inside of our bodies.
The more I understood about these simple, basic building blocks of life in our bodies, the simpler that good health seemed to be: only mankind has complicated it so much that the average person is understandably confused as to what should or should not be eaten anymore in order to stay healthy.
