A traffic jam in your colon can cause lower back pain!
Man’s, as well as other herbivore's large intestines (or colons) are puckered and pouched. It is an apparatus that runs in three directions (ascending, transversing and descending), designed to hold raw plant foods that were high in water content. Today, our colons have to push through much harder-to-digest, processed or cooked foods that lack any life (or enzymes) - so it is no wonder that modern man has more back pain than in times past.
Constipation, or even just a sluggish colon, can cause bulging of the ‘transverse’ section of the colon. This ‘transverse’ section runs horizontally and is located just above your belly button and when it is bulging beyond its normal limitations, it can put considerable pressure on the spine. It is so simple a concept that it is generally overlooked by most doctors, physiotherapists and chiropractors. When the colon is severely impacted, only flushing out the colon with hydrotherapy will often immediately relieve back pain that has been present for years. Or choosing to eat mainly uncooked vegetables and fruits can help too, but may take longer due to the blockage (traffic jam) in your colon from years of a ‘pile-up’ occurring there.
Many medications for back pain, especially opioids (painkillers), can actually cause constipation in the colon, thereby making the back pain endure longer than it normally would.
